Mondomusica and Cremona Pianoforte 2011: the results are higher than expectations!
• The two exhibitions reinforced the leadership of Cremona as the international capital of music: 334 exhibitors from 25 countries, 55 events, 290 performing artists, 13,946 (+20% vs 2010) professional visitors from all over the world
• Great results for the international promotion made by CremonaFiere: many delegations of professionals, institutions and associations from the five continents. A unanimous opinion: “wonderful!”
• Big attention from the international press: journalists from all over Europe, United States and Far East
• And while exhibitors and visitors were making business in the stands, in the offices of CremonaFiere some important international collaborations have been established
Cremona – There were all the makings of a record edition: as a matter of fact, the international department of CremonaFiere worked a lot in the last years all around the world finding the most qualified production districts, meeting the most important professionals, and presenting Mondomusica and Cremona Pianoforte to the major music associations and institutions.
The numbers of this edition speak by themselves: 334 exhibitors from 25 countries, 55 events, 290 performing artists, and 13,946 visitors from all over the world. But the essence of the success of Mondomusica and Cremona Pianoforte lies in its effectiveness for the music professionals (dealers, buyers, musicians) and amateurs.
However, Mondomusica and Cremona Pianoforte are not only the No.1 professional tools for the sector, but also an extraordinary cultural appointment. As a matter of fact, the programme of events was at maximum level: among the others, we can underline the 2nd International Seminar of Lithurgical Music, the 3rd International Congress of Music Teaching, and the Conference of the Italian Conservatories.
And what about the played music? Among the 290 performing artists we can remember Alice Baccalini, Ilya Grubert, Alena Cherny, Mikhail Nodelman, Yusuke Hayashi, the Toscanini Philarmonic Orchestra, the Verdi Quartet, and, loved by young people, Giovanni Allevi and Dolcenera.
There was also a new great space for the classical guitar with the first edition of the Guitar Ensemble Convention lead by Paolo Bandini: there were 190 guitarists playing from Italy and Europe!
“The choice of organizing Mondomusica in conjunction with Cremona Pianoforte reinforced our leadership in the sector at international level – Antonio Piva, president of CremonaFiere, said – and permitted us to collaborate with the major association of field, like AIARP (Italian Piano Tuners Association). In these days we are materializing new extraordinary projects, especially for Mondomusica; the first of all is Mondomusica New York. We believe very much in this brand new event, and the results we are reaching, especially from the point of view of the support of associations like the Violin Society of America and the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers, persuade us that we are on the right way.”
