There are still 5 months left for the celebration of Italpig but the show is already the major Italian exhibition for the pig breeding sector.

With more than 150 exhibitors occuping a total exhibition area of over 8,000 sqm, Italpig presents as the most important domestic exhibition of the Italian pig breeding industry. There are still 5 months to go for the setting up of a record exhibition.

A major opportunity to present to a qualified international audience all the latest in the pig and dairy cattle sectors.

Cremona – The long-lasting lack of an innovative and effective Italian exhibition supporting breeding professionals in entering new foreign markets caused Italpig, celebrated concurrently with the International Dairy Cattle Show, to be welcomed with confidence and enthusiasm by the entire pig supply chain.

There are still 5 month left for the opening of the show (Cremona Fairgrounds, October 28 to 31, 2010) but the results achieved foreshadow a record edition. 150 companies have already confirmed their exhibition space for a total of 8,000 sqm. These figures confirm Italpig as the major Italian exhibition of the pig breeding sector.

The concurrent celebration of the International Dairy Cattle Show in the capital of animal husbandry offers to the companies of both the dairy cattle and pig breeding industries the opportunity to present all the latest in equipment, feeds and services. Actually, the most prestigious brands of the livestock breeding sector sell products for the pig industry as well as for the dairy cattle business. Exhibiting in Cremona means for them “to kill two birds with one stone”.  Furthermore, among the over 68,000 visitors of the International Dairy Cattle Show has been registered a growing presence of foreign professionals, especially coming from the countries in which the livestock industry is experiencing a period of great development. This is certainly another reason to take part in a Show offering the opportunity to open new business channels towards foreign markets.

Considering the very good results achieved till now and the strong success of the concurrent International Dairy Cattle Show (over 80 per cent of occupied exhibition area), we can easily think about Italpig as an exhibition which will strenghten the leadership of Cremona as the capital of animal husbandry.

This year, the prestigious ring of the exhibition will host the Europen Holstein and Red Holstein Competition (over 150 head of cattle from 17 different countries) and the “Gran Premio Italpig” (The Italpig Award) which will present 150 animals from the best Italian pig breeding centers. As a further demonstration of the high level of the event all animals will be free from Aujeszky’s disease. The presence of hybrid pigs coming from different Italian breeding farms will be another proof of the high quality of the exhibition, providing the most complete overview of top level Italian pig breeding.
