A global marketplace with the finest instruments, accessories, raw materials and printed music,

24 represented countries, a music festival with 25 events among concerts, masterclasses and conferences and 11,129 professional visitors.

Cremona, October 4, 2009 –  Mondomusica visitors had the opportunity to hear at least 20 different languages, more than 150 performing artists, among them some of the best soloists, and admire real works of art of contemporary violin-making displayed in Cremona by 280 exhibitors.

Mondomusica is a living laboratory which demonstrates how the finest representatives of the violin making world can fight the crisis, said Antonio Piva, president of CremonaFiere. Mondomusica confirmed as the leading worldwide exhibition in the field and beat all past attendance records, especially in the case of foreign visitors, which registered a sharp increase. To reach this objective we promoted Mondomusica on major foreign markets trying to attract to Cremona the most qualified representatives from all over the world. The last weekend showed the results of this intense promotional activity”.

11,129 professionals attended  the exhibition for a 11 per cent increase over last year. A result above expectations which represents, however, the natural consequence of the quality of the event. Mondomusica presented the world’s finest craftsmen of musical instruments and accessories, the Meister exhibition area with top representatives of the violin making world and a new exhibition area dedicated to the most qualified music publishers. “With all these premises – added Piva – it was almost impossible for music professionals to miss the exhibition. Cremona represents the perfect marketplace to increase your business contacts and get in touch with new companies and institutions”.

And so it was, there  was a strong increase in the number of musicians, who represent the main target for instrument makers. “Mondomusica is also very important because it represents the link between musicians and craftsmen” said Piva “ a fundamental relationship to improve contemporary violin-making and lead it to even higher levels  ”.

Thousands of lovers of the great classical music attended the exhibition attracted by an events calendar of international importance: 25 events with over 150 artists. “A music festival like the one celebrated during Mondomusica”, concluded the President of CremonaFiere, ”can be certainly placed among major European events. Such an extensive calendar (besides the numerous concerts,  important conferences such as the one organized by the Ministry of Education, University and Research that I want to thank for its helpfulness and active cooperation) is aimed at attracting to Mondomusica a wider audience although closely related to our field by the strong relation with classical music”.
