Great live concerts will celebrate the new edition of Cremona Musica. On the occasion of the international Exhibition for high-quality musical instruments (organized by CremonaFiere from Sept. 29th to Oct. 1St 2017), a special gala concert will take place at the Ponchielli Theater in Cremona on Friday Sept. 29th at 9pm. Special guests: TUCK & PATTI and the guitarists FINAZ and DIANE PONZIO. Tickets for the event are already available both online on Vivaticket.it and at the ticket office of the Theater.
A special not-to-be-missed appointment for who loves jazz and folk music, for acoustic guitar lovers and, more in general, for all the lovers of live music. Suffice it to think that Tuck Andress (guitar) and Patti Cathcart (voice), better known as TUCK & PATTI have been riding high for 35 years now. They caught the audience attention with their first record “Tears of Joy” that really astonished guitarists and pop radios with the cover of Cyndy Lauper’s “Time After Time”.
Patti’s folk, gospel and rhythm’n’blues origins meet Tuck’s jazz style. Her vibrant contralto voice and her scat singing improvisation combine with his guitar virtuosity and with his ability to simultaneously perform chords, bass line and melody. Voice and guitar blend in a rare complementarity, thus originating a fine, minimalist, harmonious and musically eclectic union in which Patti writes and arranges and Tuck is the orchestra.
Tuck and Patti met in a band in San Francisco in 1978. “I was already a member of the band – explained Tuck – when Patti came for an audition. She entered, said hello to everybody and we started to perform. Just after a few second she was singing I realized I had found my musical twin soul”.
Two other great musicians will perform in the same night. They are guitar masters:
FINAZ is the guitarist of Bandabardò. He performed both in studio and live with several artists like: Carmen Consoli, Daniele Silvestri, Max Gazzé, Paola Turci, Dolcenera, Goran Bregovic, Piero Pelù, Modena City Ramblers, David Sylvian, C.S.I., Caparezza, Moni Ovadia, Franco Battiato, Daniele Sepe, Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio, Roy Paci, Stefano Bollani, Tonino Carotone, Patty Pravo, Stefano “Cisco” Bellotti, Casa del vento, Giobbe Covatta, Dario Fo, Franz di Cioccio, Tony Esposito, Folkabbestia, Peppe Voltarelli, Marco Calliari, Bob Ezrin.
DIANE PONZIO is a singer, singer-songwriter and guitarist born and raised in New York. She graduated at the “Fame School of Performing Arts” and fine-tuned her performing skills in cafés and pubs of Bleecker Street, in Greenwich Village. Diane writes her songs with pop/jazz/folk elements that lead the audience in a true emotional journey. Due to her brilliant guitar skills, the US Martin Guitars company chose her as international representative and brand ambassador worldwide. Diane performs every year in over 100 concerts in the US, Germany, England, Austria, Italy and New Zealand and records up to 7 CDs of her own songs.
